FAQ's

Q: What is Reflexology?

A: Reflexology is a scientific art where massage like techniques are applied to the hands and/or feet, and pressure is applied to specific points. These points, when stimulated, cause a reaction that sends messages through your nerves to the organ or body point that’s being worked on. This encourages your body to self-heal, and improves overall health. It also encourages deep relaxation, with improves wellbeing.

Q: Who can benefit from Reflexology?

A: Everyone! You don’t have to be sick or have a problem to have Reflexology. Those who are stressed see improvement after receiving Reflexology Treatments. Babies, children, adults, older ones, even pregnant women (with doctor’s permission) can benefit.

Q: What’s the difference between Reflexology and Massage Therapy?

A: These two are often confused, but are very different. Massage Therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues to enhance a person's health and relieve sore and tense muscles. Reflexology is much more extensive than that. Reflexology is a scientific art. It encourages self-healing of the body. Although Massage Therapy is important, it will never replace the amazing benefits of reflexology.

Q: What can I expect for my first Reflexology Treatment?

A: For your first treatment, you will fill out a Client Intake Form. This will help the Reflexologist tailor the treatment to your health needs. Communication is key! Are you having trouble with headaches? Do you have insomnia? Are you stressed? Are you in pain? Tell your Reflexologist. This will enable you to receive maximum health results. For a foot Reflexology treatment, you will take off your socks and shoes (these are the only clothing articles removed during the session) and your feet will be placed in a warm bath with salts and oils. During the treatment itself, you'll lay back in an anti-gravity chair. Massage like techniques will be applied to your feet. This should be firm pressure but not painful. If it does hurt, tell your Reflexologist and they will adjust their pressure. Some clients may perspire during a treatment due to toxins leaving the body. During your treatment, the Reflexologist works on your kidneys and bladder, so if you have to use the restroom during your treatment, please let your reflexologist know Reflexology is very relaxing. Don't be surprised if you fall asleep. Lay back, relax, and enjoy your treatment!

Q: What should I do before and after my treatment?

A: It is best not to eat a large meal before a treatment. After a treatment, be sure to drink plenty of water, this will help flush the toxins out of your body. Try to get plenty of rest that night. This will help maximize benefits from your treatment.

Q: How will I feel after treatments?

A: After your first treatment, you may feel very relaxed, restful, and refreshed. You may see results after one or two treatments, responding in a very definite way. Most notice having more energy, sleeping better, improvement in pain management, and overall heath improvement.
